The total cost of braces in Dubai, from start to finish

The price you see for braces in Dubai is usually only the start. Most clinics charge separately for adjustment visits during treatment and for retainers at the end, so the total depends on how long your braces stay on. This guide lists every part of the cost, with Healthpoint prices, and the questions to ask when you compare quotes.

The short answer

Your total for braces is the fitting, plus one adjustment visit every four to six weeks for as long as the braces are on, plus retainers at the end. At Healthpoint, metal braces start from AED 249, ceramic braces from AED 624 and self-ligating braces from AED 1,499. Each adjustment visit is AED 150, and retainers start from AED 499. Most people wear braces for about 18 to 24 months. Your consultation is free, and the orthodontist gives you the total for your own case before you decide.

Why treatment time matters most

Because adjustments are paid visit by visit, a longer treatment means more visits and a higher total. Treatment time depends on how crowded the teeth are, whether the bite needs correcting and how well the braces are looked after. Two habits keep the total down:

  • Come to every adjustment on time. Missed visits slow progress and can add months.
  • Protect the brackets. Hard and sticky food breaks brackets, and every repair costs time and money.

How the type of braces changes the price

TypeFitting fromGood to know
Metal bracesAED 249The lowest starting price and the most common choice
Ceramic bracesAED 624Tooth-coloured brackets that are harder to notice
Self-ligating bracesAED 1,499A built-in clip holds the wire instead of elastic ties
Clear alignersAED 999Removable trays instead of brackets; not every bite suits them

The lowest fitting price does not always give the lowest total. Compare the full cost, including adjustments and retainers, for the treatment time the orthodontist expects. Our guide to clear aligners and braces compares the two in more detail.

How to compare braces quotes in Dubai

Quotes from different clinics often include different things. Ask each clinic:

  1. What does the price include?Fitting only, or also adjustments, X-rays, records, removal and retainers?
  2. Who plans and supervises the treatment? An orthodontist, or a general dentist?
  3. How long should my treatment take? And what happens to the cost if it takes longer?
  4. What do repairs cost?Loose brackets are common, especially in the first months.
  5. What if I leave Dubai? Can I get my records to continue treatment elsewhere?

Will insurance pay for braces?

For adults, usually not: most UAE health plans exclude orthodontic treatment. Some plans cover braces for children up to a limit, often with pre-approval. Check your table of benefits before you start, and read our guide on dental insurance in the UAE.

Spreading the cost

Braces are paid in stages anyway: the fitting at the start, adjustments visit by visit and retainers at the end. For the larger payments you can use Tabby or Tamara, subject to their approval. For example, ceramic braces from AED 624 become 4 payments of AED 156. Read how it works in our guide to paying with Tabby or Tamara.

Frequently asked questions

Are adjustment visits included in the braces price?

At Healthpoint, no. The braces price covers the fitting, and each adjustment visit is charged separately at AED 150. Other clinics may include some adjustments, so ask what each quote covers.

Why are braces cheaper at some clinics than others?

Quotes include different things. One clinic may quote the fitting only, another may include adjustments, retainers or records. The type of brackets and who plans the treatment also change the price. Compare the full cost for the whole treatment.

Do I pay for braces all at once?

Not at Healthpoint. You pay for the fitting at the start, each adjustment at the visit, and retainers at the end. Larger amounts can be split into 4 payments with Tabby or Tamara, subject to their approval.

What happens to the cost if my treatment takes longer than planned?

Every extra four to six weeks adds one more adjustment visit, charged at AED 150 at Healthpoint. Coming to visits on time and protecting the brackets helps treatment finish as planned.
