Dental implant cost breakdown: what you are paying for
Dental implant prices in Dubai vary a lot from clinic to clinic, partly because quotes include different things. One price may cover only the titanium post, another the post, connector and crown. This guide explains each part of an implant, the extra steps some patients need, and example costs at Healthpoint, so you can compare quotes fairly.
The short answer
At Healthpoint, a dental implant with its crown starts from AED 3,500 per tooth. Removing a damaged tooth first starts from AED 100, an X-ray is AED 50, and a bone graft, if you need one, is priced at your consultation. Your consultation is free, and you get a written plan listing every item and the total before treatment starts.
The parts of an implant
| Part | What it does | What to check in a quote |
|---|---|---|
| Implant post | A small titanium screw placed in the jawbone that replaces the tooth root | The implant brand or system |
| Abutment | The connector that joins the post to the crown | Whether it is included or charged separately |
| Crown | The tooth you see, made in the lab to match your other teeth | Whether it is included, and the material |
| Planning | X-rays and, where needed, a 3D scan of the bone | Whether scans are included |
| Follow-up | Check-ups after the implant is placed and after the crown is fitted | How many visits are included |
A low price for the implant alone can end up higher than a quote that includes the crown, so always compare the total for a finished tooth.
Extra steps that change the price
- Extraction: if the damaged tooth is still in place, it is removed first. At Healthpoint, simple extractions start from AED 100 per tooth.
- Bone graft: if the bone has shrunk since the tooth was lost, it may need rebuilding before or during implant placement.
- Sinus lift: for implants in the upper back jaw when there is little bone below the sinus.
- Temporary tooth: worn while the implant heals, mainly for front teeth.
The implant dentist tells you at the consultation which of these you need, after looking at your X-rays. See dental implants for how each step works.
Example costs at Healthpoint
| Situation | What it involves | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| One tooth lost some time ago, enough bone | One implant with its crown | From AED 3,500 |
| One broken tooth still in place | Simple extraction, then one implant with its crown | From AED 3,600 |
| Two missing teeth | Two implants, each with its crown | From AED 7,000 |

Why implant prices in Dubai vary so much
- What the price includes: the post only, or the post, abutment and crown.
- The implant system and the crown material.
- Who places the implant and how the treatment is planned.
- Whether X-rays, scans and follow-up visits are included.
- Whether bone grafts or extractions are included or extra.
Ask every clinic for a written, itemised quote for a finished tooth. That is the only fair way to compare.
Cost over the years
An implant costs more at the start than a bridge or a denture. At Healthpoint, a three-unit porcelain-fused-to-metal bridge to replace one tooth starts from AED 747, and an acrylic partial denture for one tooth from AED 349. Over many years the gap can narrow: dentures need relining and replacing, and a bridge relies on the teeth either side. An implant needs daily cleaning and regular check-ups, and its crown may need replacing one day. Our guide to dentures, bridges and implants compares the three in full.
Insurance and paying in instalments
Many UAE insurance plans exclude implants or need pre-approval, so check your table of benefits before you start. If your insurer asks for pre-approval, we give you the treatment plan and estimate it needs. You can also split the cost into 4 payments with Tabby or Tamara, subject to their approval: an implant from AED 3,500 becomes 4 payments of AED 875.
Frequently asked questions
Is the crown included in the implant price?
At Healthpoint, yes: the starting price of AED 3,500 is for the implant with its crown. Some clinics quote the implant post alone, so ask what each quote includes.
Why is one implant quote much cheaper than another?
Usually because it includes less. A low quote may cover the post only, without the abutment, crown, X-rays or follow-up. Compare written, itemised quotes for a finished tooth.
Are there any costs after the implant is finished?
Regular check-ups and cleaning, so the gum and bone around the implant stay healthy; at Healthpoint, scaling and polishing is AED 79. The crown may need replacing after many years of wear.
Does a bone graft always add to the cost?
Only if you need one. Many patients have enough bone. The implant dentist checks your X-rays at the free consultation and includes any graft in your written plan before you decide.
